YES RE Neoprene girths ..we tried one on all 3 of our workers..had girth
burns on all 3 within 15 miles.. what a mess.. finished a ride but very sore
girth. all the skin sluffed off. took over a week to heal..trashed the girth
back to *pile* or sting or wool felt..never had a girth problem before or
since.
the material does cause heat build up and friction.. I cant see how any horse
is doing well with these griths but if they are working ...great.
same goes for those closed cell rubber saddle pads and saddles too much held
heat it is like a sauna under there, steam cooks the horses back..been there
too

nothing beats wool or wool blend other then horse hair.
