My mare has started to have swellings on her back further back near the
cantle. We had a problem last summer. The local vet seemed to think it was
muscle damage. I believe that it's saddle and heat related since she had no
problems over the winter.
I ride in a Passier dressage saddle with a cotton pad. I also use a Cashel
high density wedge. I would appreciate any suggestions.

P.S. Last summer I cut holes in a foam pad to relieve the areas that were
swollen.
