Yes, it would be prudent for your cardio-vascular conditioning to add
some flat miles, using interval training at the three gaits. It sounds
as if your horse has all the Charles Atlas he'll ever need.

Flatland training can also be conducive to on-the-trail dressage to
re-inforce your lateral work and suppling exercises. It will also assist
you in collection at the three gaits--something difficult to do while
rock climbing.
