g'day virginia,

yep, i've ridden the cross, in the form of a big chestnut gelding called
freddy. and very nice he was too. lovely movement, really pushing from
behind and light on the forequarters. i'd ridden a standardbred for years
before i got into endurance and always loved the feel of them, and freddy
really combined that with the arab traits i also love. very strong
feeling horse, probably would be good for a heavyweight or tall rider who
feels arabs are a little too small. i only trained him, never competed on
him, but he has completed a few rides (he's only fairly young yet) quite
well. needed a bit more aggressive cooling than our arabs, and doesn't
have quite as low a resting heart rate, but he comes back to his baseline
pretty quick, and that's what matters. i wouldn't hesitate to ride
another.
