I like Gore-Tex for real rain protection but I have to say that those $5.95
plastic ponchos from Wal-Mart do just fine for riding in the rain. They
pack well and are cheap so you don't feel bad when one gets ripped - which
is NOT case if something happens to a Gore-Tex piece cause they don't cost
just $5.95 :->

I have not ever bothered with rain pants for riding - has anyone else?
Seems like they would rub over any distance.
