[endurance] Ice boot usage

For those of you that use ice boots or just icing in general, do you use it
after each conditioning ride? Or just at rides? When? At each vet check or
just after the ride? I have a wonderful pair from DeSoto Saddlery and was
just wondering how to best use them....

I have read (somewhere - Trail Blazer, EN, SERA newsletter, maybe??) that
icing at a vet check and then taking off the trail may NOT be such a good
thing because you are asking cooled, very tight tendons to start working
again and the chance for injury increases over asking non-cooled tendons to
start working again. Makes sense I guess....Course I have also read that
icing at checks *is* a good thing - maybe I read too much???? <g>

Also, how long do you leave them on?
