>A common solution to the 'chatty' posts on other lists is to establish
>a set of topic headings. Then, it's possible to ignore posts that
>are of no interest (this admittedly doesn't help as much for
>digest-readers). Samples (taken from Rottie-L) are:
>
>VETMED: medical
>DOGCHAT: chatty stories (HORSECHAT)
>ADMIN: administrative issues
>GENINFO: items of general iterest (catch-all)
>TRAINING: the obvious
>ALERT: legislative items
>RESCUE: dog rescue info
>
>We'd probably add something like:
>RESULTS: ride results
>SCHED: Ride schedule information
>FORSALE: the obvious

I'm not sure if everyone else gets [endurance] in the subject
header in the mailbox, but I get it in front of all the messages
from this list. I love it because I can separate these from E-L,
the rat list, and the Wild Rehab list that I am subscribed to.
If these prefixes were added on to [endurace] there would be no
hope to read the actual subject of each post! As it is, I find
it hard to distinguish the subject headers, since my subject
header only shows the first fifteen characters or so.
