Hi Russ:

I have some info for you to put on the AERC Calendar for the Kiwanis Charity
Kaper Benefit Ride on October 12, 1996. It is a 25/50 mile AERC sanctioned
ride.

Directions: From Sacramento Hwy 50 E to Hwy 89 to Hwy 88 E to Hwy 395 S,
through Minden to Gardnerville. From Sacramento Hwy 80 through Reno to Hwy
395 S through Carson City through Minden to Gardnerville. From Hwy 50 or 80
E take Hwy 395 S.

Ride is staged from the Flindt Ranch, Fish Springs, Gardnerville, Nevada.
We will be camping in a ranch hayfield. There will be plenty of water for
people and horses. Hay available for purchase. Portable showers will be
available. Portable corrals available by reservations. Lodging and
conveniences are six miles away in Gardnerville.

Trail: The trail is in the Pinenut Range, east of Gardnerville. Footing is
varied and trail uses roads, single track and sandy creek beds. Some
rolling hills and a jaunt up Mt. Siegel where you'll have spectacular views
of the Carson Valley and the Sierras. There are rocky sections and a couple
of good climbs. Water and hay available on the trail.

Entry Fee Includes: Friday and Saturday dinner, Saturday continental
breakfast, Sunday's pancake breakfast plus surprise gifts, trail snacks, and
if you are a successful finisher, an opportunity to win a new Circle J
Custom 2 horse trailer, 3 day-2 night trip to Las Vegas and the Excalibur,
and other great prizes!. The drawing for these prizes will be held during
the Awards Banquet and you must be present to win. There is a Junior
Division with prizes, including US Savings Bonds.

Pre-Ride Vet Check: Friday, October 11, 1996 - from 3:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
Please call us if you need special consideration. Ride meeting approx. 8:00
p.m. Head Veterinarian will be: Dr. Alan White.

Non Rider meals: Cost $10 each dinner, $5 Sunday breakfast. Other food
available for purchase at the campsite.

Entries are limited. A refundable $50 deposit will hold your entry.
Balance must be received by September 27th. Entry deadline Oct. 4. Entries
received after Oct. 4 accepted if space is available. Entry Fee: $125
adult / $35 junior. Add $10 for non-AERC member. $1 drug test fee.

The funds raised from this ride will benefit the Kiwanis Club and over 24
projects including scholarships, Food Closet, Family Support Council, school
fingerprinting programs, and more. All profits from this ride will go
towards those projects. By participating in the ride, you are truly riding
for others as well as yourself - and we THANK YOU!

Because this is a benefit, it is our understanding that $75 of the entry fee
is tax deductable.

There will also be team entries.
