I did the first loop of CFW last year - we didn't get to finish because my
friend's mare was injured on some rocks in a stream and we ended up spending
the rest of the day at UC Davis Veterinary Hospital. :-(
In spite of that, the ride is known around here as the "easy" one. It is
very well organized and the trail is well marked. It is fast and flat and I
don't remember many rocks except for the ones in that stream - that was such
a bizarre accident! Last year it was hot and a little humid and we were
told by the vets to be sure to cool them off at every opportunity, so bring
your sponges and scoops!
I'm considering doing this one too. Maybe we can all get together and put
some names with faces!
