For those in the Kentucky/Ohio/Indiana area, Farmer's Feed Mill in
Lexington, KY (1-800-753-4255) offers RESOLVE, a 7% fat, 15 % fiber, 11%
protein texturized feed. It is my understanding that it was formulated for
event and endurance horses. I've been feeding it for 3 months and am very
pleased.

However, the vitamin/mineral supplement is not included in the mixture and
you feed that separately. The purpose offeeding the supplement separately is
they say when you cut back on the amount of feed, you also cut back on the
amount of vitamins/minerals. When you don't want the extra calories, you cut
back on the amount of grain but feed the same amount of supplement.

Another however - I found it "hard to swallow" giving my horses so much
volume of feed/supplement. When I gave the required amount, my horses were
getting twice the volume of their normal intake. I feared it was just too
much for the gut to handle at once - even though I split the feeding to twice
a day. So, since my horses had done so well on Power Plus for years, I
started giving them the Resolve feed only and Power Plus. One horse has
completed two 50 milers this spring, placing 4th overall in both. The other
horse hasn't been ridden much and, even though I've cut back drastically on
the amount of feed she gets, she's fat!

I attempted, once, to call the feed manufacturer and discuss how I'm feeding
their grain. I've got a call in to them today, and if I find out anything
else, I'll be glad to post it.
