Whoa, all this is confusing me. I have been using flex free just because of
the stress that an endurance horse experiences, and I want to make sure that
I give him whatever I can to make sure everything is always OK. My horse
has not ever had any problem so I'm not sure if the general consesus is that
"if nothing is broke, dont fix it" with feeding supplements such as has been
discussed. I also feed SOURCE and just because I thought that was a good
supplement. I have been considering cosequin because I'v heard good things
about it. So after all this I'm asking is it the general opinion that these
supplements (cosequin, adequin, flex free, etc) should only be fed if a
problem exists and not as a preventative. Are they not good if they are not
needed ? I also use sports medicine boots especially in deep sand or uneven
terrain and those are definitly for protection and I wouldn't give up.
