hello,

I forgot to add my weight division - oops. I am a featherweight and 5'8".
My husband is a heavyweight and 6'2" and he competed Star (15.1 hh and
about 1,050 lbs) two times last summer. Star did very well despite the 65
pound and 6" difference between me (his regular rider) and J (special guest
host rider). Not as well as with me but it was Jeremy's first competition
and he has only been riding for a very short time. Star and I have been
together for 10 years now so it really isn't fair to ask J to do as well
with him.

I completely agree about teams. Quark is probably three times the trail
horse that Star is, but our personalities don't mesh. When I ride her, it
just isn't the same. That is why she is for sale and I am keeping the old
man. He is my horse, even with his many, many faults. In fact, if I had
had a better look at him at the auction, I probably never ever would have
bought him. If Dad had let me, I might have given up and sold him the
first few frustrating months that I had him. Fate works in mysterious ways
sometimes.

It is still raining!! Nonstop! Ohio is going to drown if this keeps up.
Star and Quark are standing in flooded stalls because my drainage is
overwhelmed. I went home for the first time in weeks and couldn't ride
because I can barely walk through the pasture to catch them. Needless to
say, I was not a happy camper.
