hello,

I am 5'8" and have always believed that folks want bigger horses than they
really need. It seems that all the dressage riders in my area average
about 5'3" and ride 17 hh horses! Ridiculous in my opinion. Even at the
Rolex 3-day Event in Lexington,KY (I was in the vet box) the horses were
only 16 hh average. Some were bigger but there were also lots of 15.1 and
15.2 horses who did very well. Bigger is not better, especially when it
comes to atheletes.

Anyway, Star is 15.2 and Quark is 14.3. I feel a bit tall on Quarkie but
she has proven her ability to carry me easily. No sense wasting money
feeding a bigger horse when a smaller one does the trick.

Arab, who is for sale)
