[endurance] 25 to 50

I'm considering moving Drake up from the 25 to the 50.
He is now 6 years old. As a 4 year old, we did 1 25
(and then travel schedule interfered), and as a 5 year old,
we did 2 25 (before the travel schedule interfered).
He is on acreage, so gets plenty of mileage in on his own.
I do lots of easy trail riding in the 12 to 15 mile range,
slow but mountainous. Last weekend to test him we did
13 miles on Saturday going easy and slow, and then 15.8
miles on Sunday going fast and hard. 7mph over steep trails.
He came through beautifully.

Now, do I make the jump? There is a ride in 2 weeks.
It is supposed to be easy, no mountains, mostly dirt roads
and tracks. I figure Drake's ready. But am I? (I used
to do 50s, but that was a few years ago when I was a bit
younger and in better shape.) I don't have a crew.

Come on guys. I need encouragement.
