[endurance] check ligament surgery and endurance

several months ago - i posted an ad looking for an additional
horse for endurance riding. i was looking for a horse with
endurance experience, 7 yo or so, from the hot humid south
where i compete. for the past month - i have been leasing
a mare that seems to fit what i am looking for reasonably well.
she is an arab and about 15 1 hh, raised in louisiana.

she has 310 aerc miles on her now - 100 of them with me and we
came in 3rd yesterday and BC in the longleaf ride in
mississippi in the 50. there were only 13 in the 50.

i would like to ask the group if anyone has any experience with
the only potential problem that i see in her. when she was 2 months
old - apparently her right front leg was "too upright" - whatever
that means. the owner had surgery done which clipped one
branch of the check ligament. today she has a thickened area
both inside and outside on the leg at the top that looks like scar tissue.
it does not seem to affect her but i wondered what the longterm
effect may be on a horse that i would like to compete in 100s
for a good number of years.
