Sue Griffin's KKS Windsong breeze ride was this weekend. Extremely
well managed as usual. Cool and windy all day, but at least the
sun was shining. I had my horse fit and ready for his first ride
of the year, but the vet ('Hawkeye' Michelle) detected a slight
nod while trotting in a circle, which was more pronounced when
she did a flex text - so I decided not to ride, and spent the
day doing P&R. I had a great time helping, and got to keep tabs
on all the action. Quite a few riders got dumped by over-excited
horses, the top 2 50 milers had a blistering race for the finish,
and then both proceed to tumble off their horses as they flew
past the finish line - one fellow took a few tumbles under his
galloping horse - I just knew he was dead! But after 15 minutes
of slow recovery, he was back with the living. Some serious limping,
but nothing broken. Plenty of excitement. Will have the results to
post soon.
