[endurance] People Shoes

Hi everyone!

Someone asked about people shoes again so let me see if I can
summarize the posts I got. Please keep in mind I had
specifically asked about shoes that could be used for riding
*AND* running along with your horse or Ride and Tie. (I got
7 responses which is a small sample from this list)

Ariats (2)
Libertyville catalog "Steeds"
(also gel sole from a non-runner who did *some* running in these)
Basketball shoes from generic sporting goods store.
Hi Tec (2) trail shoes (endurance)
Adidas trail shoes (Ride and Tie)
Asics running shoes

This is the responses I got from my original request about a
month or so ago. In addition, I have atleast 1/2 dozen friends
who ride in Ariats. Some use Ariat 1/2 chaps, some use the
softer generic 1/2 chaps. Personally I ride in a pair of
custom made extra-tall western boots that are miserable to
try to run or do much trail walking in. (I got them *just*
before the Ariats came out with their paddock boot / 1/2 chap
combo). The western boots have saved my toes from being run
into things like fences and being stepped on by the TB oaf,
but they are definately heavy.

At least one person who rides in running shoes does not use
toe guards. I am planning on purchasing a pair of running
shoes or trail shoes... although I'm also scheming on a way
to justify a pair of Ariats and 1/2 chaps.
