Stasia Hurley asked if there were other horse groups on the internet.
Here are a few with instructions on joining. Happy reading and
surfing.

There are several major listservs one can join (depending on your
interests), including the following:

EQUESTRIANS:

EQUINE-L is a discussion list for and about horses; all kinds, types
and varieties of horses. Postings ranging from care and feeding of
your backyard hack to scientific research concerning any aspect of
wild or domestic equine populations are welcome. If you wish to
discuss training, human-equine psi experiences, horse "ghosts", seek
a bit of comfort over the loss of a cherished horse, or find the best
way to handle any aspect of horse ownership, you may reasonably
expect to be welcome on Equine-l.

Equine-l is a very high-volume list. It is also unique in the sense
of "community" and "belonging" which exists among subscribers. If you
are seeking a "just-the-facts" list, this may not be the place for
you. If you are seeking an environment wherein participants regularly
share one another's equine joys and sorrows, you have found a home.
Managers and Administrators of any institution maintaining an equine
population, (breeders, trainers, tracks or research installations)
may discuss mutual problems and points of interest here. Reasonable
discussion of conservation and environmental issues, as they
specifically relate to equine populations, are welcome here. The same
holds true for almost any aspect of equine veterinary care and
management.

To subscribe to Equine-l, send a message to "listserv@psuvm.psu.edu"
(without the quotation marks) with a blank subject line and the
following command as the first (and only) line of the message body
"subscribe equine-l your full name" (without the quotation marks and
replacing "First name Last name" with your full name).

Once subscribed, send EQUINE-L postings as E-mail to
equine-l@psuvm.psu.edu

COMPETITIVE TRAIL RIDE:

This list is for people to dicsuss any topic that relates to
competitice trail riding, such as NATRC (North American Trail Ride
Conference). It is not limited to NATRC, rather it is intended to
provide a platform for all competitive trail riders and trail riders
in general to communicate and discuess issues.

To subscribe send mail to "macjordomo@txranger.com" (without the
quotation marks) and leave the subject line blank. In the body of
the message put " SUBSCRIBE competitive-trail-L your name" (without
the quotation marks and substituting your name where appropriate).

To send a message to all members of the list: you would send a
regular email to competitive-trail-L@txranger.com

FOXHUNTERS:

Foxhunters is a list of avid and "wanna bee" foxhunters who discuss
types of hunts (live, drag, coyote), types of horses, descriptions of
actual hunting days, scents, hounds, etc.

To subscribe to Foxhunters, send a message to
"listserv@rivendell.cc.uky.edu" (but without the quotation marks)
leaving the subject line blank and in the body of the message write
"subscribe foxhunters your full name" (without the quotation marks
and substituting your name where appropriate).

After subscribing, you can send mail to all members of the foxhunters
discussion group by addressing your message to
foxhunters@rivendell.cc.uky.edu

NATURAL HORSEMANSHIP:

This discussion group is for folks who are interested in finding
true unity with their horses through natural horsemanship. This
is accomplished with communication, understanding and psychology
rather than mechanics, fear and intimidation. Ray Hunt, Tom Dorrance,
Pat Parelli and John Lyons are examples of teachers who carry the
*natural* message to the world. If you are already involved in
natural horsemanship, or would like to learn more, this group is a
good place to get or give help. It is also a great place to locate
others in your area, and/or those doing natural horsemanship with
a particular breed or discipline (reining, dressage, jumping,
etc.) This group is not a commercial venture for any natural
horsemanship guru or trainer.

To subscribe to the Natural Horseman list, send email to
"listserv@cmsa.berkeley.edu" (without the quotation marks) leaving
the subject area blank and entering into the message body the line
"subscribe horseman your full name" (without the quotation marks and
substituting your name where appropriate)

To send a message to all the people currently subscribed to the list,
just send mail to horseman@cmsa.berkeley.edu
