Wendy,

I solved the problem by making my own. (I know that's a cop out) I repair
them when they snag, then make new ones...cheap...$4-$15 a pair,
depending on fabric. The heavier weight cotton and cotton blends stand
up the best. The nylon tends to run & rip, like hose. I love the
Polartec 200S stretch...they're great in the winter, and amazingly
durable. I'll soon be experimenting with a supplex/lycra blend. I'm
hoping it will offer the best of both cotton and nylon. I'm also
experimenting with a synthetic suede/lycra blend...should be interesting.

>From what I've seen, the Carosel tights are the best made, and I'd love
to get my hands on the fabric they use. It's a great weight and blend.
I think all of the tights are way over priced, though. My suggestion, is
to find someone with a serger who will make them for you. They're really
simple. Three seams, a waist band and elastic stirrups...1.5 hours max.,
add 20 minutes for knee patches...lots of fabrics are available mail
order.

It's great to have friends who sew.
