Dorothy, i have an orthoflex that i love, I am never sore and always
comfortable, and my horse never has a sore back. But my arab has an
extremely short back and loin rub occurs. it does not seem to hurt him but
it looks awful. The other problem I am dealing with the orthoflex is being
so short backed the girth lays so far forward that his own skin is pushed
towards his elbows and rubs agains itself. The funny thing is these things
never happen on in an actual competition, but in every day training when at
some time we just do a strung out walk. The Orthoflex peop;e say your horse
should always be rounded. I find during every day work out and when riding
with non endurance people when we may do a strung out walk I have these
problems. I love the saddle,. have had it one year and am still trying to
deal with these. But if your horse is not super short backed, (as I have
other friends with Orthoflex and not as short backed horse), they are
wonderful
