[endurance] Riding Sores (et. al.)

I have found that a 95% cotton pair of riding breeches with leather (or
some leather like substance) knee patches works extremely well. I prefer
the ones with stirrup legs (to keep them from riding up).

If I were riding in the cold (instead of Southern California) I would
choose wool over cotton.

I used to only wear my breeches for showing but it didn't take me long to
discover that jeans (one 25 mile ride) and sweat pants ( one 50 mile
ride) were totally inadequate. I thought, what I need is a pair of pants
that fit close to the skin, have no inseam, are made of natural fiber so
they breath, and have something that will give me good grip along the
inside of my leg. When it finally dawned on me that I had a pair of
riding breeches that fit that description perfectly.

I have used them ever since. They were white (when I used them for
riding jumpers), but, unfortunately, they haven't stayed that way.
