I have two Wintec's - - an all purpose, which I paid $280.00 (new) way back
in 1988, and a close contact which I got in 1991 (new) at Dominion Saddlery,
VA for only $120.00 (close out - it came from the D.S. store in CA and it was
the last one in existence). I love them both. Although I do not compete in
endurance (yet), I have put a lot of miles on them. I think they are the most
comfortable saddles I have ever ridden in. I can't ride in a leather saddle,
I slip right out. I also use "Webbers," they don't rub my thigh like the
buckles did. The stuffing hasn't flattened out or gotten hard. (I am also a
lightweight rider 5'1"/108 lbs.) I have ridden them on my now 14-year-old
American Saddlebred mare. She has narrow shoulders, and they both fit her
perfectly. I really wish I could add up all the mileage on them, it would be
interesting to see how well they have held up. I have gotten every dime out
of them and then some. Go With A "Win"tec!!!
