Do you know that Internet Indexing Engines are taking in their data the
messages we send to the discussion group ?
I explain my experience. I'm a professional in Informatics and I have lots
of contacts in that domain.
Last week I was interviewing a british guy as a candidate for a new job
using a visioconference system. At the end of the interview, he asked me if
a was this Leonard Liesens who owns a arabian stallion and have australian
saddles and had some problems to find adequate pads for them. I was
completely surprised. He explained to me that he found these data just by
typing my name in the LYCOS search engine.
RIGHT! I did it and I found every message I sent to this mailing group.
Personaly, according to my 'ethique' I think this would not may happend
because this is semi personal information (what I do as hobby may not
interess every single guy on the net especially professional relations).
Technically, I think that Lycos runs day and night lots of spies which
collect all data on all servers. They found it probably on the archives you
put on the 'fsr.com' machine.
What is your opinion ?
What is the opinion of our friends from the discussion group ? Are they
willing to protect their messages ?
Could you foresee some protection if the author requests it at the time he
send a message to the list ?
I know this is not an equestrian endurance related subject don't you think
it is important.
