[endurance] synthetic shoes

To the person asking about synthetic shoes: I have tried the slypner shoes
and loved them. I live in the Florida Keys, Big Pine, and the ground I have
to train on is all hard coral rock. But, (as many times there are) my horse
for whatever reason, had him checked by a vet, and he is never lame in
competition or in everyday work, drags his rear hoofs so that you can hear a
double click on pavement. It pops the inserts out of the base shoes. I
really liked the traction they gave me, didn't worry about slipping on the
coral rock ground doing fast workand thet ride felt great, but the rear kept
popping out. Then I went to an edurance clinic in Altoona last October and
the Vet speaking at the clinic said that the Slypners didn't give enough
concussion (contact) (stimulation) to keep the blood supply moving as it
should for a really healthy hoof. I have only heard that from one vet, I
did not pursue it because they didn' t work for my heel dragger but i did
like the safety factor and I felt like my horse liked it too.
