Hi Teddy,
I myself are from Pretoria. Endurance riding is becoming very popular =
here in South Africa. At most events wev'e got more than 100 horses =
competing, and wev'e got about 50 rides in the country during a year. =
The big event is of course the National Championships which takes place =
during July at FaureSmith in the Orange Free State.
Most of the rides are currently 50 milers, then there are a couple of =
100 milers and Fauresmith is 132 miles (which takes place over 3 days, =
50 miles, 50 miles, and 32 miles). Times are fairly fast, the average =
winning time for the normal 50 milers are about 3.2 hours. However, 4 - =
5 hours are the average times.
I don't know about participation in FEI rides, but I'll try to find =
out.
