I've read that as well. I've even tried it with a semi-scientific study
(I trapped flys and counted the differences in numbers) and I can see no
difference in the fly population with cider vinegar, distilled vinegar or
even w/o vinegar! For me the number of flys was the same in all trials.
Given that the only reason I feed vinegar is to prevent stones and the
regular works just as well for that purpose. Since I'm feeding it to 16
animals the cost difference is significant/ Even to the point that I am
considering buying vinegar in 50 gallon drums. <g>
