[endurance] Boz Saddle Comments

I had a Boz saddle for a while. My horse HATED it.
Granted, Porter is somewhat of a wimp in handling pain.
At least he tells me what is not working. Towards the end
when Porter saw me bringing the saddle out of the barn (whether
to the car or to him) he would stomp his feet, wring his
tail and get upset. The last time I put it on him, Porter took his
back left foot lifted it to me and gently pushed me away.
I got the message.

I don't know why it didn't fit. I brought it to Diana Thompson
during a saddle fitting clinic - in her opinion (which I value)
it didn't fit any of the horses.

John Bozanich claims the saddle tree is flexible. I think you would
have to get an elephant to stand on it to get it to bend. When I asked
John about the picture in his advertisements, he admitted that the
tree in the picture that is bent in half was made special for the
picture and is not used in the saddles. (possible false advertising?)

The saddle also has no craftsmanship. It is leather cut, glued, and
riveted together. I paid around $700 new, and thought that was too
much. At around $1000 I always wonder who buys them.

Some people like them. A lot of their horses have lots of white
hairs on their back from a bad fit. Just my experience, which I
have shared with the John Bozanich, the manufacturer.

Stacy and Porter

Porter now stands still with a smile on his face as I tighten
the girth on his Kieffer saddle. (finally a saddle that fits!)
