That's where the triangular bandages come in handy! A large bandana will
also work - to tie the arm in a sling, and the second bandange (or even vet
wrap) to tie it down to the body. I had this same exact situation, except
it occured at an equestrian center.

Same here! I learned the hard way that it's not a real smart idea to go
riding out in the woods with stirrups with toe-guards. My stirrups now have
NO toe-guards! Another good reason for wearing a helmet is that it comes in
handy as a battering-ram when going thru branches sometimes!

I did remember a few things I forgot in my post (remembered when I went
riding today!) I always carry pepper spray, can you believe I forgot to
mention T.P.! I also carry (summer) a mosquito repellent stick, snake bike
kit and sunscreen. I just keep throwing more and more stuff in my saddle
pack - I had somebody offer me $5 once if I could produce a safety pin. I did!
