Besty, your story hits too close to home! Although I would
never be brave enough to get on my horse wearing a pancho.
He hates pastic bags. I've put him in the round pen and
rubbed him with one, fed him hay from one and generally
flapped it at him. He just looked at me and sighed. He knows
in the round pen nothing is scary! But at the hitchrack, watch
out. About all we do with him now is leave him tied, do what
we're going to do and ignore his snorts... with the occasional
annoyed "Magnum, knock it off."

We were riding down a fairly narrow "side of the mountain"
trail, heading home with Magnum in front. No room to spare,
he spun quite suddenly and headed straight for my companion
who said she saw raw terror in his eyes. The culprit? A
hiker we had not seen yet coming up the trail in a rain poncho.

Magnum's response was "SEE! That plastic bag is EATING that
Man!!! ... I *told* you those things were dangerous!"

ps Did anyone catch Becky's story about Rio and flappy things?
Perhaps I shouldn't be admitting to this on internet... ;-)
