[endurance] SR Enduro saddle

I ride an SR Enduro saddle and love it. I'm one who has not gone through
one saddle after another searching for "the" saddle -- I found it first. As
most of you know, you send your measurements along with a cast of the horses
back and saddle is made to fit your both. I've spoken to many others with
the SR Enduro and no one knows of one to sore a horses back. The seat is
not deep so I put a seat saver on it and it gives a lot of security for
riding the young horse. The stirups are hung in a balanced position, I do
advanced dressage in this saddle. I particularly like the "wrap around
feel" (i.e. close contact) instead of the "perched on top of the horse" that
many of the saddles give. Steve uses high quality leather that will last
many years with care, the quality of workmanship is important to me and I've
not seen another saddle that compares.

I went to the SR Enduro because I purchased an old, protype Gorenshenk that
a friend had made. Steve refitted the saddle, replaced the broken tree and
padding. When I didn't think I could ride again due to back injury I sold
it -- tried to find it and repurchase with no luck (remember the ad in
Endurance News looking for the boarhide Enduro?) I'd still like to find it
if possible...I think it's in the Santa Cruz, CA area, hint, hint. So had a
new one made.

The only down side is that you can't take it from horse to horse however if
you change horses for a very reasonable fee it can be refitted to a new horse.

One thing I notice is the used tack for sale ads -- how many used Enduro's
have you noticed for sale? I only remember one. Yes they are pricey, but
worth it IMHO.
