[endurance] Follow-up on mare who tied-up

More than 20 of you wonderful people came answered my plea for help last week
when it was thought that my Morab mare April was tying-up. I feel so
fortunate to have such a caring support group all over the country. Thank
you all. The vet, after getting results of blood test has eliminated
tying-up, thank God. We now believe that a combination of living outside in
muddy conditions (causing soft feet), having no shoes, and being walked at
halter by my husband a few times, caused a severe bruising of her left hind
heel. Sunday, we soaked that hoof in Epson salt and warm water for 20
minutes, then smeared some stinky icthomol (spelling?) on her foot, wrapped
it in plastic and put it in a Davis boot. This morning, the boot was still
on.... and she was walking MUCH better and eying the handsome gelding nearby,
a good sign! Thanks again for your caring support. Bye for now.
