I have a GoreTex sheet I picked up from Phalens a couple of years ago, before
they went out of business. The water absolutely rolls off of it. The down side
is if there is any kind of wind, it tends to flap. I think if I put some New
Zealand leg straps on it, it'd stay on better. There is no belly strap, either.
It just ties around the head with a loop that goes under the tail. But the
fabric is great and it makes me feel a lot better to be able to put it on my
mare in a sudden summer downpour.
