Hello -

It's been wet out here in Northern California. Kind of spoiled riding over
the long weekend.

Carrie- I rode the Lakeside Classic last year. The 50 mile ride is the 25 mile
ride done 2X. It is a wonderful ride. You ride across acres of beautiful
wildflower covered trails. It is a fairly moderate trail. I would venture to
say that any horse with limited conditioning could complete this trail with no
problems. It is mostly rolling hills, with some flat. The only danger is some
of the ground squirrel holes on several spots.

Shannon - sounds like your horse is claustraphobic. I have a horse that can't
stand to be in stalls for more that 30 minutes or so to eat his grain, or when
he is sick. He was brought up in a stall. Now that he knows the freedom of
living in pasture he can't stomach living in the stall. My grey horses have
never had problems with the sun. They have a shelter they can get shade in and
seems to be sufficient. Why not let your horse stay out?
