[endurance] miller sportific or Ariats??

I have been riding in a pair of Miller Sportific Riding sneakers for 5 or 6
years now and really like them but it is almost time to replace them. I was
thinking about just getting another pair - esp. since State Line's Coupon
Sale has them for about $50 :-> .

Then I got to thinking - I spend more time on the ground (on my feet,
usually, tho with my Arab, sometimes it's on my butt <g>) than some of you
probably do since I am currently riding to finish not to win. So....should
I spend the extra $$$$ and go for the Ariats?? I've heard lots of great
things about them but are the really worth double (or more) what I would
pay for the Sportifics?

For those that have used them for a while - how have they held up to going
in creeks, mud, and then drying out - over and over - or am I the only one
that *doesn't* take good care of riding shoes <g>?
