Tommy & others
I have had my share of run ins with hunters/shooters. And it has always been
where they could drive. I have had only good experiences in the last two years.
During hunting season I avoid areas where hunters can road hunt, (drive &
shoot). All the hunters I have met on trails are friendly and courteous. We
passed two groups while riding in Cuyama last Saturday. I think it has to do
with working (hiking) instead of being just lazy and unwilling to hike. When
you do see the stupid ones, it is usually because no one has taught them.
Sometimes when I talk to an intelligent group I will ask them to educate the
stupid group I just passed. Coming from another hunting party it is probably
accepted better than if I said something. We need to try to work together to
keep access for all of us.
Tommy, there are some good trails in Cuyama, 1 to 1.5 hours from you. After
this upcoming rush of rides, perhaps we could meet over there to explore some
of them.
