I'll just pass along a trick that I learned when I lived in Michigan (Brrr ;-).
This is what doctors recommend for persons who have had frostbite (they're
more likely to get frostbitten again), and want to do winter sports or other
outdoor activities.

Take some timed-release niacin about 20 minutes before starting your outdoor
activity, and your fingers, toes, and ears will stay toasty warm! The
niacin improves circulation and enlarges the capillaries, so your
extremities get more warm blood to keep them happy.

Please, please, please search until you find TIMED-RELEASE niacin, otherwise
you will be mad at me when the entire dose of niacin hits your system all at
once and you have a massive hot flash!
