Hi Shannon-
For years I allowed my horses to roll at will (during and after competition).
Until a my friends horse layed down for a good roll in the grass (just showed
for best condition) got up severly cramped, then coliced. (he actually received
the highest vet scores on the bc judging) He definetely was not collicky prior
to the roll.
I have observed horses getting crampy after a good roll at many rides. Mine did
it once, and he walked out of it. Now I am very careful!
