Boy, you could get me on a real soapbox over this one!!

The malady you refer to is far less common than you think, but, yes, it does
exist. I have come up with a name for it. In fact, I have coined the phrase
and will use it as the title to my book in process. The disease is:

DISTANCE INDUCED MENTAL RETARDATION (DIMR)

It only gets worse with distance, but can improve with age. Our saving grace
is that fact the FEI is becomming so popular and I believe it will slowly
take over all our competitions. FEI is tough on riders and good for the
horses. It takes up the slack when DIMR takes over.

Fortunately, too, this is America. I would HATE having some governing body
tell me what to do and what not to do. Big Brother has long been here and he
is getting worse. We all need to teach and live as good examples, not dictate
behavior.

I wish I had been born 100 years ago when life was an endurance ride. I am
eternally grateful that I will not be around 100 years from now when none of
is will be human anymore.
