One thing that has worked well for those of us from the Northwest who
want to ride in snow is "hoof grip pads." It's just a little hollow
rubber tube that attaches under the shoe. It does not cover the whole
sole--but it keeps the snow from balling up. Check with your farrier.
I've had good luck with them.
