I have been feeding corn oil for a year or so.
Just within the last 6 weeks we have added rice
bran to our feed schedule. I have a TB and
need to make sure he doesn't loose weight over
his backbone, but I also don't want him to get
high on something like Omalene 200. Neither
corn oil or rice bran has affected his brain.

However, since adding as little as 1/2 lb of
rice bran to his 5-days-a-week grain bucket
I have noticed a considerable change for the
better in his coat shine and healthyness in
his pasture-kept mane and tail.

We are using generic rice bran as opposed to
Natural Glo which is cheeper, but still a bit
more expensive than corn oil. The horses all
really like to eat the rice bran.

Magnum has been layed off for 7 weeks (remember
his splint?) and put "2 holes" worth of weight
on using just the 1/2 lb of rice bran and a
single pound of oats (in addition to his
pasture feed / forage).
