We have tested beet pulp and wheat bran on endurance horses under race
conditions. We soak the beet pulp and wheat bran in water with electrolytes
added. (A.B.C.'s Plus Ions) The performance in hydration and gut sounds were
superior with beet pulp. Admitted there are many variations in this type of
study, each race is different and each horse has it's preferred days and
courses.

We did accumulate data on both products for two seasons. Beet pulp proved
superior. Ths data was adjusted to each horse's individual accumulated race
data. We also had better acceptance at vet checks in quantity eaten after
horses were accustomed to both products.

We began working with beet pulp because of fiber content and consistency as
well as Calcium:Phosphorus ratios are more acceptable.

Our opinion is that beet pulp may release water and electrolytes at a slower
rate which could match the requirements of the horse closer at this
accelerated metabolic scenario.

You are right we are JUST an independent research company. If you would like
we could make arrangements to send you an A.B.C.'s Plus catalog for your
review.
