I use Cosequin on my 15 year old Appy gelding. I have had remarkable
results with it. I went from a horse that couldn't be ridden at all to a
horse that is not lame at all. He has a good deal of arthritis, and some
radiographic changes in the bone. Auburn University School of Vet
Medicine is doing a research project on the cosequin, and my horse is
part of that project. I have another friend with an 18 year old horse
that has had some problems, and he is now on Cosequin with amazing
results. Cosequin is like Adequan, except you feed it to them instead of
give shots. I tried Adequan on my Appy, and it did not even put a dent
in his problem. Just my anecdotal evidence. I have found that if it
works for you, keep using it. It may not work for everyone.
