I think the cleanliness and healing time of the actual surgery ought to make
a difference in whether it helps or hurts the horse. I guess I also would
tend to exercise ALL other options before resorting to the knife. And as
always, of course it will turn out differently in different horses!
I don't know about Bey Shah specifically, but I have seen POlish back ends
that are TOO FLAT and too straight. Bask had some great babies too, but he
also has some really crappy ones. Guess that's why I have tended to go back
the older Crabbet type. They tend to have huge rears,good angulation,
 and aren't flat.
