Topaz is a formal stallion who was used and starved for years before
we bought him from the knacker. Good sense probably should have
prevailed and let him go but......
He's been on good pasture for a year and has filled out nicely. He
also went to Ted Draper's for 2 months for basic ground work / riding.
Because of personal problems the owner hasn't done anything with
Topaz since he returned in March 95. I've worked with him on the
ground only including teaching him to drive. We do not have the
facilities here to continue training him in an arena (we don't have
one).
Topaz is highly intelligent, athletic and doesn't spook like many
arabs. He is very handsome, probably about 10 years old. He is in a
separate pasture since he thinks he is still a stallion.
I think he would be a great horse for packing or if the right person
got him he would be ridable within 6 months. The owner wants some
money for him, realistically, I don't see her selling him. I think she
could be convinced to lease him to a possible owner or even give him
away to the right person.
   Any suggestions would be helpful.
