Fortunately, SEDRA ( and I believe the same is true for ECTRA) is a little
more progressive than NATRC in the regards to pads. Try to take a horse
out of FL or Southern GA and go do a ride in rocky areas. In this case the
need for pads has nothing whatsoever to do with breeding or selection - it
is environment pure and simple. Sand and swamp soften the feet of all
horses. Padding is about the only solution (unless you use Slypner shoes -
which is another story).

I also assume that at a NATRC ride one cannot use an easy boot in the case
of a pulled shoe?
