hooked up with anyone yet.. left a couple messages for Nancy but maybe
she isn't home or the phone number is not correct as it doesn't
identify whose phone it is... but I'm sure I'll hook up with someone
soon.

When you all go on a 25 mile ride, is that a one day event or 2 days?
How many miles per day does a fit horse do? I just read one person
say they went the first 15 miles in 45minutes??? is this correct? Also,
does anyone out there have opinions on the Sports Medicine Boots?

Running into Marsh Muck can be a big concern... Last weekend my
buddy and I were at China Camp, North of San Francisco taking a "nature
trail" that went thru the marshes from island to island. The trail was
a little wet, nothing major. Her horse (BEAU, 1/2 quarter, 1/2 Arab)
hopped across a small stream. Mystery (my Morab) and I were right
behind, too late to stop as Beau sank to his chest, struggling and
making the situation worse. I was able to hop of Myst and turn him
back so he just went up to his knees, but we had a hard time getting
Beau turned around and to high ground. There really was no indication
the ground was marsh muck..... Bike tracks and people tracks across
it...no sinking of the earth. Thank goodness no one was hurt, just
stinky!

By the way, I do loops all the time on a one day ride. Sometimes
I'll ride to Annadel State Park (Sonoma) and we will go aroun the lake
2 - 3 times. He is much more alert and excited versus going around the
40 acre ranch even twice. I don't know if a horse thinks beyond the
now enough to realize he would be going 10 miles the same way he was
just on....

Thanks a lot and hopfully someone in this area will tune in and
catch me for a ride one of these days....!!!!!
