I have had to deal with tar weed in our 100 acre pasture for many
years. The best cleaning solvent I have found is mechanics waterless
hand soap. It does a good job of cutting the tar and doesn't bother
the eyes as much as regular soaps.

Help, I've got a horse that needs to go to a birthday party to give rides on
Sat. and she is covered with tar weed. She is a buckskin with four white
socks (which are now black). Her head is also black now and her forlock is
all gooey. What can I wash her with that will cut through the tar weed but
not bother her eyes and muzzle.
