At the Tin Cup Springs Ride in Michigan last weekend, Dr. J Romanik had some
questions for other vet types and asked if I would post a question on here.
Her appy gelding flushes his selenium whenever he is put on a rigorous
training program. His selenium count in March was normal and by June 30th,
was in the basement. She is wondering if anyone can comment on how selenium
is stored in the horses' body and what carries it through the systems. Her
gelding rode with us in the end of June and did fine. Since then, he has
been lackadaisical (sp?) in his attitude and willingness to work. She pulled
blood in early July, and sure enough, his selenium count was all but rock
bottom. Any help would be appreciated and I will pass on to her or put her
in touch with the experts/ Congratulations by the way, to Shelly Dake and
Takis Rama for winning yet another ride and BC at Tin Cup Springs last
weekend. Way to go Shelly!

Not to brag, but for those of you who can remember your first Top Ten
Completion, my gelding WMF Fads Pizaz and I just Top Tenned our first ride
there too! Thanks for letting me brag a little. What a feeling! I though
just finishing was a blast! (It still is)
