Hi Everyone -
I've been doing more lurking than contributing recently - the rest
of my life got busy.
I read Diane (Ames) Janssen's article about Spanish Barbs on the
endurance homepage and I would love to find out more abut the breed.
Diane, are you out there? Does anyone know how to contact her or
contact addresses (e- or snail) or phone #s for getting more info.
about these horses. (Also anything on Spanish Mustangs.) Years ago a
friend and I introduced a rare breed of dog to the US (Tibetan Mastiff)
and I've been hooked on rare breeds ever since.
Both my riding buddy and his horse were under the weather in late
July so we had to cancel out of the East High Sierra Classic. From
what I hear, the Bumgardners had troubles with high water and snow
levels just like everyone else in CA this year so they had to reroute
the ride making it somewhat less spectacular than usual. But Jackie
Bumbardner said they had a waiting list when we cancelled a week before
the ride which must show how few rides there have been this year! I'm
definetely planning to try for it again next year. So, for the moment,
Tara and I are just taking it easy. If I had my own rig I would join
you guys at Pt. Reyes later this month - boy does that sound like fun!
Happy trails!
