Back to the horses :-), Rummy, my SO took our 4yr old, Ari, on a pleasure ride last
weekend, only 15 miles, but it was very hilly, and very hot and humid.
The day didn't start to well, as Ari managed to break a finger on Rummy's left
hand as he was loading him. When we got to the venue, Rummy wouldn't let the
first aiders look at his hand 'cause he was afraid them might not let him ride.
(he did see them AFTER the ride) So
he did the ride with his hand strapped up with vetrap. Anyway, the ride went really
well, he managed about 6mph despite the conditions and Ari was really well behaved.
We live in a very flat area, so we weren't sure how he'd cope with the hills.
He seemed a little tired coming home, but the following day you would never know
he'd been anywhere, infact he was the most active horse in the field. No sign of
any stiffness or swelling, so we're really pleased :-)
